20 MEC for Flexleie

Norwegian rental company Flexleie has taken delivery of its first 20 MEC Speed Level 2684RT-T for tunnel work

The Bergen based company has ordered the 26ft platform height units specifically modified for tunnel applications.

The operator can level the platform at an elevated working height of up to eight metres, without the need for levelling jacks, and drive at its full working height of 10 metres. The five degree tilt cut out and MEC’s early warning notification system notifies the operator that the terrain is changing and can automatically level the platform without lowering.

The 4.57 metre extended platform is 1.83 metres wide and boasts a capacity of 770kg, the unit can level up to 14 degrees side to side and 10 degrees fore and aft, and is offered in 4x4 Diesel, Gas/LPG, Electric or Hybrid power.

Flexleie’s rental manager, Ole Heie said: “With our fleet addition of MEC’s new 2684RT-T machines we can finally provide our customers with the solution they have been asking for, this is the only machine available today that allows the customer to continue working without lowering the machine every time they need to move. For tunnel jobs the operator needs to stay in the air and continue working, with MEC’s early tilt warning system and ability to level in the air this is the perfect machine and will increase the productivity tremendously for our customers. We plan on adding more of these in our rental fleet soon.”
