Stavdal AB acquires Rentex

Swedish rental company Stavdal AB has acquired fellow Swedish rental company Rentex which operates from three locations in Gothenburg and one in Malmö, with annual revenues of around SEK67 million(€7.7 million).

The acquisition considerably boosts Stavdal’s position in the Swedish rental market and should take its annual revenues through the SEK 400 million (€46 million) level. The new locations will add to Stavdal’s existing eight locations including two of which are in Gothenburg and Malmö.

Rentex was founded in 2005 and has been managed by Ulf Krantz and Magnus Andersson since then and they will remain with the business, joining the Stavdal management team. The company currrently employs around 50 and focuses on the rental of aerial lifts and has a strong position in the fall-protection equipment and scaffolding market. It tends to share premises with Prevex hardware stores.

Stavdal chief executive Mikael Olsson said: “Rentex is currently one of the strongest players in the installation and rental of fall safety and scaffolding in its operating regions. The company will be able to provide a high level of expertise that complement Stavdals range and services further. We welcome all new employees into the company and we are looking forward to an exciting journey together”.

Krantz added: “Stavdal was the best option for our company’s development. An organisation with the right size, with substantial resources and a really fresh fleet. Now we will really be able to offer the whole package”.

Stavdal Sweden was 50 percent owned by Ramirent until 2004 when it sold its shares to joint owner Hammarvikens Industri. Although Stavdal Sweden has an outlet in Oslo, Norway it is entirely separate from Norwegian company Stavdal Utleiesenter, which was acquired by Cramo in 2011, although it does share the same historic roots.
