Orr Safety to distribute Tagattach
UK based safety products manufacturer Tagattach has appointed Orr Safety of Louisville, Kentucky as its distributor for the USA.
Tagattach’s principle product is an inertia reel /recoil tag line for guiding and steadying loads. It looks like a retractable dog lead but is said to be significantly safer than regular lengths of rope which can tangle around arms or legs and be easily damaged. The standard Tagattach uses webbing tested to 1,500kg breaking strain, rather than rope, the standard unit extends to 20 metres.

Orr Safety put the product through an intensive testing process with a rail road client, before deciding to offer it for sale and start purchasing units for stock.
Tagattach’s inventor and managing director, Joseph O’Kane said: “Ever since the idea for Tagattach came to me whilst operating a tower crane at Stansted Airport, I knew there was a need to improve the existing technology for taglines which is a length of rope. With Orr Safety’s reputation built over 65 years and covering all of the US, we are sure the Tagattach brand will gain a firm foothold across a wide range of US industries, in a short space of time.”

Charlie Strickland safety product manager at Orr added: “One of our major clients was looking to improve safety at their depots in the USA where rope was being used as a tagline. We have now received approval from this client to roll out the retractable units, Tagattach and static units, Grip Rope. We have also had enquiries from industries and clients we have never dealt with previously with orders already placed.”
Tagattach also produces a more conventional range or taglines - but with brightly coloured protective canvas sleeves and large quick-release hooks – and a special non-conductive version of the Tagattach with built in 25kV protection.
