Ruthmann launches 22 metre

German truck mount manufacturer Ruthmann has unveiled a new 22 metre TBR220 truck mounted lift, just days after releasing the 38 metre T380 – see: Ruthmann unveils T380.

Available on a range of 3.5 tonne chassis, the TBR220 is equipped with a four section main boom and 2.2 metre articulated jib offering an outreach of up to 16.4 metres. With a maximum platform capacity of 230kg, its interchangeable basket system allows operators to easily switch between an aluminium or double-insulated 1000v synthetic cage.

The company said: “This innovative new model features performance capabilities that, up until a few years ago, were only available in the 7.49 tonne truck category. This is achieved because the multi-bevelled telescopic boom sections are made of cold-rolled, high strength steel for maximum stability and minimal weight. Also the telescopic cylinder has been integrated internally in the boom system, which is a first in this category.”

“In 2014, truck manufacturers will be delivering the first 3.5 tonne chassis with EURO 6 emission standards. The TBR 220 is well equipped for this transition however, as its reduced weight offsets the extra weight of the EURO 6 base vehicles. The total weight of the unit will therefore remain under 3.5 tonnes, as required by law.”
