The crane, owned and operated by Guizhou ShengYongSheng, arrived on site in late 2023 configured with its full 75 metre jib. The unit has handled loads up to its maximum capacity of 20 tonnes for pylon construction and steel truss girder installation across the bridge's 1,420 metre main span and 2,890 metre total length. It has also worked alongside the world's longest span cable crane system.

Manitwoc /Potain marketing manager China Ling Qian said: "This canyon was once a construction 'no go zone', but the MCT 385 has reaffirmed Potain's position as a manufacturer and strategic partner capable of delivering technological breakthroughs. This project shows China's ongoing commitment to ambitious infrastructure development and highlights the role global, high end equipment can play in delivering these mega projects."
The new bridge structure stands more than twice the height of France's Millau Viaduct and will reduce travel time from Liuzhi to Anlong from three hours to 1.5 hours.
ShengYongSheng's MCT 385 has operated for 10 years on regional projects including the Guiyang Twin Towers Project and Xifeng Industrial Standardized Plant Project.
