1 Up takes first UK 280TJ

UK based rental company 1 Up Access has taken delivery of the first 86ft Manitou 280TJ boom lift in Britain and one of the first units to be delivered anywhere in Europe.

The 280TJ’s short single stage riser, three section telescopic boom and two section telescopic articulated jib offers 28 metres of working height and a 21 metre outreach combined with a maximum platform capacity of 350kg. Powered by a Kubota engine the unit includes four wheel drive, four wheel steer machine and 40 percent gradeability, with a total weight of 16.5 tonnes.

1 Up managing director, Ben James, said: “We have recently purchased five booms from Manitou and have been extremely impressed with the product quality. The 280TJ sits perfectly into our 'big' boom fleet and has been on hire from the first day it arrived. We are in discussions with Manitou to add further booms to the fleet for 2014. We are becoming well known for 'big booms' and feel that's the area of the fleet we really want to grow.”
