LEEA launches new training courses

The Lifting Equipment Engineers Association (LEEA) has launched two new practical training courses covering the thorough examination of electrical overhead travelling and portal cranes, as well as runways and cranes structures.

The five-day courses, available to employees of LEEA's member companies, prepare delegates for procedures including the thorough examination of equipment and the criteria for returning cranes back to service. The Runways and Crane Structures diploma is designed to address runway beams, jib and mobile gantry cranes and structures, while the Electric Overhead Travelling and Portal Cranes diploma caters for delegates that already hold the LEEA Lifting Machines Power qualification.

Led by LEEA's team of specialist trainers, the courses can either be held at association's training centre in Huntingdon, which features a purpose-designed and fully functional electric overhead travelling crane, or a suitable premise worldwide. The first Runways and Crane Structures diploma will take place in Huntingdon in December, with the Electric Overhead Travelling and Portal Cranes course scheduled to start in early 2014.
