Fourth Dutch depot for Riwal

International aerial lift and telehandler rental group Riwal has opened a new depot in Leek, near Groningen, to cover the northern area of the Netherlands.

The new branch is aimed at improving transport efficiency by moving equipment and services closer to customers. The Groningen depot will be stocked with a wide range of aerial work platforms and telehandlers and will offer equipment sales, technical support, parts service and training courses.

This location brings the number of depots in the Benelux region to five, the others being Dordrecht, Amsterdam and Eindhoven in the Netherlands and Genk in Belgium.

Henk van den Boom, Riwal country manager Benelux, said: “We are focused on providing the highest levels of safety, productivity, and service for our customers, and opening in Groningen supports that goal. We also look forward to helping new customers with their access needs as our Groningen team pushes forward with our newest location."

Vertikal Comment

During its early years Riwal had a policy of covering the whole of the Netherlands from a single mega location at its headquarters in Dordrecht. This began to change a few years back, partly due to stronger local competition, but possibly also driven by increasing congestion on key parts of the nation’s road system.

The change over the past six or seven years is also indicative of the more global trend towards moving supply closer to the customer.
