Safety Innovation award for ACM
Australian Crane & Machinery’s overhead wire maintenance platform has received a Safety Innovation and improvement award from the Australasian Railway Association.
The 10.5 metre working height platform has been designed specifically to work on rail network overhead lines and includes a telescopic mast wire support and pantograph wire contactor and recording device.

An ACM wire maintenance vehicle sold to Yarra Trams
The lift uses a scissor lift sized platform on top of a fully insulated telescopic boom, outreach is just over seven metres and platform capacity 450kg. The superstructure has 360 degrees of slew and the platform is connected to the boom by a slew ring allowing it to rotate freely.
The road rail machine can travel at up to 30kph on rails or 10kph in work mode – on the road it can exceed 100kph. The award was presented to ACM managing director Ben Potter by former member of the house of representatives Lindsay Tanner
