It’s a long way up at Tipperary
Spotted by a reader in Tipperary, Ireland two men working from a boom lift but ignoring safe practice.

On the pavement, no cordoning off and a man out of the platform
The men were apparently working on the roof tiles from the 45ft articulated boom, wearing no harnesses or lanyards, and then one of the climbs out of the platform and works on the slopping roof.

The light appears to be fading
On top of that the machine, which weighs around 7.5 tonnes, is parked on the pavement close to the building which could very easily be hiding an old cellar or pipes. Add to that the fact that there is nothing in place to warn or keep pedestrians from walking underneath and the light was fading and one wonders who these two are and if this is their first time up?

Perhaps he thinks the hi-viz jacket will ward off any danger?
In the words of our correspondent: “I took this picture in Tipperary Ireland they were fixing slates on roof, no harness, climbing out of basket and walking up roof, the machine specification was too short for job.”
