Dieci goes for a world record
Italian telehandler manufacturer Dieci and its Czech distributor Manatech CZ have launched a combined attempt to set a new world record for the unassisted distance travelled by a telehandler.
The machine that has been chosen to achieve this record is a Dieci Agric Plus 40.7 EVO2, it left the Dieci plant in Montecchio at 11:00 am yesterday. It will now be monitored constantly by official judges from the Guinness Book of World Records as it drives all the way to the Czech Republic.
In order to set a new record the telehandler must travel more than 840km in six days, from Montecchio Emilia in Italy to the Techagro exhibition in Brno, Czech Republic, crossing Northern Italy, Austria, Germany and the Czech Republic.

Some points along the route could involve extreme conditions, such as the Brenner Pass and the Eastern Alps. As part of the ‘Manatech Tour’ a euro will be donated to the Tango H. Brod charity for the Disabled, for every kilometre travelled.
UPDATE
The team was successful in its bid, completing 878.5 kilometres over six days, consuming 379.81 litres of diesel. Two men alternated the driving for both safety and speed. The only compromise to the record bid was the fitting of a non standard tire tread, with Mitas turf tyres used, for lower rolling resistance and better fuel economy. For more information
