More Liebherrs for Megalift
German heavy lift and haulage company Megalift has taken delivery of a 750 tonne Liebherr LTM 1750-9.1 All Terrain crane with a further two Liebherr cranes set for delivery later this month.
The 1750-9.1 has been ordered with a full range of equipment, and will be used for the erection of concrete towers for the latest generation of wind turbines. The company will also take delivery of a 200 tonne, five axle LTM 1200-5.1 and a 130 tonne LTM 1130-5.1 All Terrains later this month. The 1130-5.1 has been ordered with Liebherr’s variable supporting base technology ‘VarioBase’. Launched at Bauma last year, the technology measures the position and the support forces exerted on each individual outrigger to calculate the available lifting capacities for the actual outrigger set up and counterweight installed.
Megalift owner Bernd Preuße said: “The variable support base is a major step towards enhanced safety. We believe this is the main benefit of the new system. Our fleet is increasingly becoming a Liebherr fleet. The positive experience we have had with Liebherr cranes made the decision to buy another large machine an easy one.”
