Self-erector flips
A trailer mounted self-erecting tower crane overturned on a site in Edinburgh, Indiana, yesterday clipping the roof a nearby house and landing on a shed.
The crane - a Potain Igo 13 - was working on a construction project at MA Metal when the limb of a tree that was being cut down reportedly struck the jib of the tower crane causing it to overturn. Damage to the house and its shed appear to be minimal.
It is not clear whether the crane was being used to lift tree limbs or whether a tree limb simply dropped onto the jib.
