Palfinger lead UK market

Six months on from its acquisition of Ratcliff, Palfinger, is making the UK its competence centre for tail-lifts. The company also says that the combined business now makes it the clear market leader for tail-lifts in the UK and has firm plan to become European market leader.

Palfinger say that it is very happy with the purchase, having retained all existing production and distribution and service agreements. The “corporate integration is now largely complete and the transfer of the company’s competence centre for tail-lifts from Salzburg to Welwyn Garden City, Ratcliff’s main location is proceeding.

In all around 230 “new” employees joined the Group
“The takeover and cooperation with the English management is proceeding extremely well. We will only enter markets where we can attain the international market leadership in the medium term and at least one of the top three positions in the competitive rankings. With Ratcliff we should be able to achieve this goal!” stated Executive Board Chairman Wolfgang Anzengruber.

In addition to the regular tail-lifts the acquisition has taken Palfinger into a new market that of boarding aids for buses and trains. The UK firm is one of the leaders on this market too and Palfinger seems to think that this product line has further potential.
