Irish move for Wacker Neuson
Austrian telehandler and light equipment producer Wacker Neuson has appointed Glendun Plant Sales as its dealer for the north of Ireland and surrounding counties.
Based in Dungannon, Glendun, the newly formed company has been set up by Dermot Cunnie, previously general manager of Sleator Plant, and Derek Weir of G. Weir and Sons. Responsible for the sales, parts and service of all Wacker Neuson products throughout Ireland, the company recently sold two new 1.2 tonne TH412 compact telehandlers to Northern Irish rental company U Hire.
Cunnie said: “Wacker Neuson has enjoyed a long successful history here with one of the widest ranges available in the market. Derek had initially started to sell the compact equipment product but inherently with the brand, there was some confusion over product representation in the market. We have rationalised the area and set up Glendun as the sole dealer for the full Wacker Neuson product line.”
Ian McVey, Wacker Neuson’s territory manager for Ireland, added: “It’s a great time for Glendun to sell across the range with exciting new light equipment products. The DNA of the Glendun team fits exceptionally well with Wacker Neuson. The time is right and with a rising market it was a perfect opportunity for both parties to support the Northern Irish market."
