Tower crane hits homes in Cologne
A tower crane came crashing down on to a residential buildings in Cologne, Germany on Thursday night/Friday morning, trapping a man in his bed.
The tower crane had only been erected on Thursday and came down in early hours of Friday morning landing on two buildings. The local fire department rescued five people and a dog from the buildings, one of which was close to collapse. We understand that on further inspection it will be demolished.

The crane came down on residential buildings
The man escaped from his bedroom with minor scrapes and bruises. While the investigation into what happened is continuing, initial reports from the emergency services suggests that their was a cavity of some sort under the crane foundation.
