Radio remote saves operator
Power to the small town of Pfalzdorf, Germany was cut when a loader crane struck an overhead power line.
The crane had finished unloading when its boom inadvertently came into contract with the 10kW power line. Fortunately, the operator was unharmed in the incident as he was operating the crane with a radio remote controller. The current did flow through the vehicle, melting the asphalt under the outriggers.
Firefighters secured the scene while the power was disconnected and the crane removed
