Green Access plans new locations

Last November we reported on the emergence of UK rental company Green Access Platforms - see: Green Access opens in Telford. We now have a response from the company, confirming the details in our report and highlighting some of its plans for 2015.

The following correspondence was received yesterday: “Following your article of November 6th, we can confirm that a new depot was effectively opened in Telford. Green Access Platforms has now been trading for two years and was previously known as Access Rentals London. The change of name and the relocation to Telford are both part of an overall reorientation of our strategy. Although Access Rentals London always had a presence in Telford, for machine reconditioning and service work”.

“The company’s management took the decision to relocate all activities to Telford at the beginning of 2014. With a present fleet of 110 units, we intend to expand the company’s activities in 2015, which will include the opening of at least one new depot in the North West region, while adding 200 machines to the fleet. Due to historical relations, the current fleet is mainly made up of Haulotte units”.

Green Access Platforms is owned by Pierrick Lourdain, who was previously general manager of Haulotte UK, based in Telford. He added: “Green Access Platforms benefits from an experienced team that has been involved in all aspects of the industry, including rental, equipment sales and service. It is also a real pleasure for me to come back to Telford, where I have good memories and contacts with partners”.

I keep wondering why is it called Green Access Platforms.... What’s the message?
Is it that they are an environmentally friendly company if so how, or are their machines just painted green or is it a reference to the green shoots of a new company?
For all I know it could be something as silly as they just like 'Kermit and The Muppet Show’.
There must be a reason and I think it would be interesting to know.
