ThermOil appoints IPS

US battery additive manufacturer ThermOil, has appointed IPS as its new distributor for the UK. The company will hold inventory of Thermoil’s De-Mister and De-Sulfater products ready for next day delivery.

The De-Mister is said to help reduce electrolyte evaporation through gassing, thus reducing maintenance and top up requirements, while reducing internal and external corrosion or furring. Giving the batteries a longer working life. The De-Sulfater is used to rejuvenated sulfated batteries that might otherwise be scrapped.

Thermoil was introduced to the European market in 2009 through Martin Davies in the UK - see: Thermoil at Vertikal Days, however in the past year or so Davies has moved on to other things, and the manufacturer has tried to satisfy existing demand via direct shipments when possible.

Terry Fellner, president and founder of ThermOil said: “IPS has a huge amount of experience in supplying replacement parts and is highly regarded in the aerial lift industry. We believe IPS is therefore the right partner to take
ThermOil forward and continue our penetration of the UK market.”

IPS is also launching its own six volt deep cycle traction Power Series of batteries for aerial lifts. It claims the batteries are full compatible with other brands, and they come with a two year warranty. The batteries will initially be available in five configurations, ranging from 220 to 380Ah.

Kevin Shadbolt, operations director of IAPS said: “We are delighted to be taking on the UK distributorship of ThermOil products, which help access equipment owners save money by making traction batteries last longer. And when the batteries finally do need replacing, our new Power Series represents excellent value for money, offering higher amp hour ratings at a significantly lower cost to other leading battery brands.”
