Crawler crane overturn
A crawler crane flipped over backwards at a bridge site in Virginia Beach, Virginia yesterday.
The crane, a somewhat dated FMC Linkbelt, belonging to McClean Contracting - the main contractor on the $79 million Lesner Bridge replacement project – was lifting a load when the ground appears to have given way behind the rear track, causing the boom to go over the back, landing in the water.

Thankfully no one was injured in the incident, the operator managed to jump clear as the crane began to overturn. The company is investigating the cause of the incident.
