Huisman CEO to step down
Dutch based heavy lift and offshore specialist Huisman will appoint a new chief executive as Joop Roodenburg takes on newly created role within the company.
Effective 1st August, Roodenburg will step down as chief executive to take on the newly created role of chief technology officer. In this role he will focus on the company’s technical innovation as well as continue to lead its sales and concept division. He will also remain a member of the board.
Roodenburg will be replaced by André Meijer, who is currently managing director of Imtech Marine. Prior to working for Imtech, Meijer spent 11 years as managing director of VolkerWessels Telecom. He has also served as director of KPN Ketwerbouw and manager of AT&T.

Joop Roodenburg
Roodenburg said: “Since 1981 Huisman has been a family business. I have taken over from my father and it is my dream that my children will take over the company in time. I have reached the age of 65 and I feel that it is time to further pave the way for the next generation by stepping aside and entering a role focused on innovation and technology.”

The company added: “André is a proven leader, with a track record in organizational change and operational excellence, in challenging environments and circumstances. We have great confidence in André and are certain that he will further pave the way for the next generation Roodenburg to take over in the future.”
