Liebherr Customer Days in Pictures
Liebherr continues to unveil new crane models at its Customers Days event today, with a 250 tonne five axle All Terrain with single engine, Eco-mode fuel saving system and Variobase outrigger set up system.
The new crane replaces the LTM220-5.2 and is said to offer capacity improvements of between 15 and 20 percent, thanks to an increase in the maximum counterweight from 74 to 88 tonnes. Liebherr claims that this makes the LTM1250-5.1 the strongest five axle All Terrain on the market- something that the Grove GMK 5250 claimed when launched earlier this year.
The main boom remains at 60 metres, as does the bi-fold 12.2 to 22 metre swingaway while the maximum hook height has increased seven metres to 110 metres, reached by adding seven metre inserts, and a connecting section between boom nose and extended swingaway. The 'jib' can be manually or hydraulically luffed by up to 45 degrees.

More on this and the other introductions in an event round-up later this week. We will also take a much closer look at the specification in the next Cranes & Access magazine, including how it really does stack up against the new Grove and other cranes in the class.
