Land's End to John O'Groats
Andy Pearson, managing director of UK rental company Prolift Access, has completed his charity bike ride from Land's End to John O'Groats, raising £1,535 for Children’s Hospice South West.
Pearson and friend Nigel Callun set off on the challenge from Cornwall on 8th July and arrived at John O Groats last Sunday. Unaided by any support team, the pair covered a total of 1,039.8 miles over 11 and a half days.
Pearson said: “I had my chain snap at 91 miles on day nine, which was a 107 mile day, and my front disc brake was seized for 100-ish miles before I could get my bike properly fixed in Bonar Bridge in Scotland. We would like to thank everyone for their donations and messages of support. It has been a great adventure.”
