Bauma acquires CTT

Messe München the owner of the world’s largest equipment show -bauma - has acquired the big Russian equipment exhibition - CTT Expo - from Russian trade fair company Media Globe.

Messe München chief executive Klaus Dittrich said: “CTT is an internationally known and established event. It is an ideal addition to our global construction machinery cluster. With the world’s leading trade fair bauma in Munich as the centre piece and our events in Shanghai, New Delhi, Johannesburg and, in future, Moscow, we have achieved a global market share of more than 50 percent.”

“At a stroke, this purchase makes us the fourth biggest foreign trade fair organizer in Russia, also laying the foundation for creating additional trade fair events there”, added Stefan Rummel, managing director of overseas activities.

Media Globe proprietor Alexey Striganov will remain on board as a shareholder in a newly established company. CTT’s international co-organizer is IMAG, a Messe München subsidiary.

CTT has been held in Moscow every year since 2000 and covers 54,000 square metresa, with 670 exhibitors. The next show will be held in May 2016.
