A new telehandler producer
Farm tractor producer McCormick, has entered the telescopic handler market with an innovative design that it says takes the multi-use concept further than any current machine.
The company says that it has patented a number of aspects of the machine including the boom construction, steering, transmission and driving/control arrangements. The vehicle will be manufactured at a plant owned by McCormick’s parent Argo in Breganze Italy.
The machine is primarily aimed at the agricultural market ad offers nine metres of lift height, 3500kg maximum lift capacity.

Key features include an integral three point implement linkage at the rear of the machine with 4500kg lift capacity, together with mechanical power take-off for driving powered implements.
In addition, however, there is the unique feature of a reversible driving position, which means the three-point linkage and PTO can be used to carry implements in a self-propelled format with advantages in terms of operator comfort and visibility and machine manoeuvrability.
McCormick says that this reverse drive format gives its new model the most spacious cab of any telescopic handler, something that Merlo currently claims.
When the new handler will be powered by a 150hp engine driving through a combined hydrostatic-power shift transmission. With a 50kph top speed at relatively low RPM for increased economy.
