New Middle East sales manager for Genie

Genie has appointed Gary Cooke as the regional sales manager for the Middle East, reporting to Charbel Kordahi, who was recently promoted to managing director of Terex Material Handling and aerial lifts for the Middle East and Southern Africa.

Cooke’s principle role will be to support Genie distributors and major accounts in the Middle East, and establish new distributors and relationships within the region.

Garry Cooke

Cooke joins Genie from ALE Middle East where was International business development manager for the past two years or so. Prior to that he spent a total of almost 14 years with Lavendon group company Rapid Access, most recently as international business development manager. He joined the company in 1997 as sales manager and then became depot manager for Abu Dhabi, he then Kuwait as country manager between 2001 and 2002.

Charbel Kordahi

He then took two years out from Rapid with National Oilwell Varco and then Alarcon. before re-joining the company as depot manager for Abu Dhabi, moving up to the international business development in 2011. In this role he was involved with supplying powered access into Egypt, Algeria, Turkmenistan and Iraq before setting up the Rapid Access depot in Basra.
