27 straddle carriers for New Jersey
New Jersey based Maher Terminals has ordered 27 Kalmar ESC350 straddle carriers for its Port Elizabeth terminal.
The ESC350 diesel-electric tier 4 final straddle carriers have a maximum capacity of 50 tonnes when lifting twin 20 foot containers, or 40 tonnes with single containers, and will be used to update and expand the company’s current fleet. The carriers will be pre-tested and fully erected at Kalmar’s facility prior to shipment, allowing shorter installation and commissioning time at the port. Deliveries are expected to be completed during the spring.
