More senior appointments at Hewden
UK crane, access and telehandler rental company Hewden has made several senior appointments as it continues to restructure.
Edward Carr joins the company as operations director - cranes. Mike Omond takes up the new role of operations director - plant, while former Interlift managing director, Kevin Chalmers is appointed operations director - lifting solutions, following Hewden’s acquisition of Interlift last month.
Carr joins the company from Select Plant Hire where for the past two years he has been product leader - tower cranes and hoists. He began his career in 1999 as a service engineer with Kier Group, and over the following 14 years he worked his way up through the company, in a wide variety of roles in both the UK and Romania. Positions included assistant plant manager, depot manager, general manager plant and operational support manager for cranes and fleet.

Edward Carr
Omond has been in the rental business all his working life progressing through the ranks. He has been a director at Hydrex Specialist Plant and more recently managing director of the Plant and Rail division of Speedy.

Mike Omond
Chalmers founded lifting and materials handling firm Interlift back in 2006. During his 10 years as managing director he built the business to 34 staff across three locations in Middlesbrough, Hull and Glasgow.

Kevin Chalmers
