Tracked platform from Ascendant

UK based vehicle mounted lift manufacturer Ascendant Access, has launched an 18 metre tracked All Terrain work platform.

The new A18-13TJ features a high mount telescopic boom topped by a 120 degree articulating jib and is mounted on an Takeuchi TCR50 tracked carrier. The superstructure is based on the well proven Ascendant A18 truck mount, adapted for the off road carrier. Outreach is 13 metres and maximum capacity 230kg.

The machine is aimed at those who need to work at height in difficult to reach locations such as overhead line maintenance and installation as well as various types of surveying work. The machine weighs just 5.5 tonnes and benefits from a wide tracked base, and a total ground contact area of 2.25 metres, providing a low the ground bearing pressure, making it ideal for soft ground conditions.

The Takeuchi chassis has a maximum travel speed of 9kph with 35 percent gradeability.. The unit can be level itself on a 20 degree transverse slope with its hydraulic outriggers.
