Fatal shock at height

A man died from injuries sustained while working on an electrical power line in the small town of Pierce, Nebraska on Thursday.

Dave Hoogestraat, 59, utilities manager for the city of Pierce, was working on the repair of a damaged utility pole from a truck mounted aerial work platform on Thursday afternoon, when he came into contact with a live power line. The local Fire and Rescue service responded, but he died from his injuries. A man working with him on the job, was unhurt.

The accident is still under investigation by the Pierce County Sheriff's Department and the Pierce Police Department.
