Gehl expands telehandler Production
The Gehl Company has approved a $6.5 million investment in its telescopic handler production facility in Yankton, South Dakota.
$2.2 million of the investment will be used to construct a 2,800 Square metre extension to the plant and $4.3 million will be used to introduce new technology, including increased laser cutting, robotics and an entirely new paint system. When completed, in January of 2007, telehandler production capacity will be approximately 50 percent greater than today.

investment in the Yankton facility is a confirmation of our firm commitment to increasing our presence in the telehandler marketplace, one of Gehl’s core market segments. The expansion clearly positions the company to take advantage of ongoing growth in the telehandler markets for the foreseeable future.”
Gehl builds 16 models of telehandlers at its Yankton facility ranging in capacity from 6,000 (2,700 kgs) to 12,000 lbs (5,400 kgs) and lift height from 34 (10m) to 55 ft. (17m)
