Intermat pulled in record attendance
The official statistics from the recent Intermat show in Paris show a 16 percent increase on 2003, with 209,032 visitors checked through the gates. 45 percent of the visitors came from countries outside of France, with 160 countries being represented. This is a 21 percent improvement on the last show.
Vertikal Comment
This is generally good news, most exhibitors we spoke to had a very good show at Intermat and were very happy with the quality of visitors they received and thus the order intake. Many will be surprised though that the number of visitors was up so sharply, the general impression was that it was a little slow in terms of pure numbers. However one should remember that the 2003 show was dogged by strikes with the first day being virtually empty.
The numbers help support Intermat’s claim to be a major international show, rather than a regional French show.
