Palfinger launches 3.5t 28m

Palfinger has unveiled a new 28 metre telescopic truck mounted platform , the P-280B on a 3.5 tonne Euro 6 chassis

The new machine was shown to customers at its recent open day at its plant in Löbau, Germany, which was attended by around 100 customers. The new machine uses a aluminium boom, and an offers a 230kg platform capacity which it can take to its full 27.6 metre working height, unlike some other products in this high/light category, such as the recently launched Ruthmann, which takes its 230kg maximum capacity to a height of 26 metres and 100kg to its full 28.8 metre working height.

Palfinger's new 28 metre P-280B

The new Palfinger has a maximum outreach of 17 metres with 100kg in the platform, it is mounted on a 3.5 tonne Mercedes Sprinter chassis, with Euro 6 diesel power. The aluminium boom is said to be both light and stiff, thanks to its thicker side walls compared to the latest thin wall ultra tensile steel booms.
Specification details are thin on the ground at the moment so we will follow up once we learn more of this product and the new Ruthmann, both of which take the reach possible on a 3.5 tonne chassis to new levels.
