Tree trimmer fatality

A man died and three people were seriously injured after a truck ploughed into the back of a bucket truck in Ohio last week.

A three man crew had arrived at the site on route 13 in Fitchville to the south west of Cleveland, and were setting up, a flagman with a stop sign had been posted, the tree trimmer, Zachary Warner, 34, was in the platform when the articulated truck struck, amazingly he survived the impact and resulting fire, and was air lifted to hospital where he died over night.

Two of Warner’s colleagues, aged 50 and 28 were also airlifted to hospital with serious injuries. The driver, William Brindle, 62, who appears to have completely missed seeing the flagman and the truck, also sustained non life threatening injuries and was taken to hospital.
