Another tree trimmer death

The owner of a tree care company fell to his death last week while trimming trees from a bucket truck, in York County, South Carolina.

According to the local sheriff, Ricky Boyd, 63, the owner of Boyd & Son Tree Service, fell around 14 metres after he was ejected from the platform last Tuesday. He was declared dead at the scene. Quite how he managed to fall was not explained although we are told that he was catapulted from the platform – suggesting that he was not wearing a harness with attached lanyard.

York County is located to the south west of Charlotte.
