Platform electrocution

A man has died after coming into contact with overhead power line while working from a trailer lift in Salem. Massachusetts.

The incident occurred on Tuesday while James Kennedy, 59, was using the JLG trailer lift to paint the windows on the outside of the fire house in the town and took the platform too close to the overhead power lines.

The fire crew were out on a call at the time and came back to try and help, but were not able to intervene until the power was shut down.

The National Grid was quickly on the scene and one of its staff was able to bring Kennedy down from the platform. He was rushed to hospital where he was declared dead. OSHA inspectors also visited the scene to investigate.
