A few more new products from Apex

Day two of Apex was busier with most exhibitors happy with the traffic they received following on from our report yesterday here are a few more new products.

Manitou unveiled the new 66ft 220TJ telescopic boom which also available in heavier, larger platform + format. The new machines combines the running gear of the 60ft 200ATJ and the 80/86FT 260/280T telescopic booms. The boom on the 220 simply utilises three sections of the 260TJ’s four section boom and its two metre articulated jib. Unrestricted platform capacity is 230kg or 350kg for the + model, outreach is 17.6 and 17.8 metres respectively. Total weigh of each is 11,850 and 13,800kg.

Palazzani launched two new models, a 32 metre articulated tracked spider lift, the TZ330, the first articulated model the company has produced. In many respects it mirrors the TCA Falcon FS320Z and FS330 in terms of lift mechanism, The company also showed a ‘trolley’ mounted version of the Multitel boomed 22.5 metre TZX225.

Local company Battery Supplies showed a new Dyno lithium ion battery pack that can replace the standard four six volt pack on an electric slab scissor lift. Charging time from half empty is said to be in the region of 45 minutes, with a longer battery life and longer overall life. They are totally maintenance free and substantially lighter – handy perhaps for trailer lifts, but perhaps not for scissors. Cost is currently between four to five times a regular lead acid battery

Versalift showed an LT-23-90-TB on a Fiat Doblo WorkUp chassis, with compact dimensions – it has an overall length of under five metres - and an overall weight of 2.5 tonnes with 250kg of spare cargo capacity after allowing for drivers, passengers aluminium lockers and fuel etc...

The unit offers a nine metre working height, 4.2 metres of outreach and a one man fibreglass bucket with a platform capacity of 120kg without the need for outriggers, a capacity upgrade is also available. An optional detachable tow bar is available.
