Crane veterans drive for charity
Two UK Crane Industry Veterans – Malcom Davies of Davies Crane Hire and Roger Miles of Roger Miles Plant Sales - are taking part in the XK Jaguar Round Britain Coastal Drive to raise money for the Prostate Cancer UK charity.
The drive is organised by Philip Porter who founded The Jaguar XK Club and has received treatment for the disease. Miles nephew Kevin Megson operations director at T.E.I. in Wakefield, died from the prostate cancer two months ago. He regularly rented in cranes at power stations and refineries across the country. In the 10 years he battled with the cancer he raised £100,000 for the charity and as Yorkshire ambassador for Prostate Cancer UK, he welcomed drivers when they visited Bridlington on the first ever tour last year which raised £60,000.
