800 lifts for A-Plant

UK rental company A-Plant - part of Ashtead Group - has taken delivery of 800 boom and scissor lifts in a deal worth £14 million.

The new deliveries include platforms from JLG, Skyjack and Niftylift, including 45ft JLG 450AJ and 80ft 800AJ boom lifts, and 32ft Skyjack SJIII 4632 slab electric scissor lifts. The latest deal follows an order announced last week for 600 telehandlers , part of a 1,200 unit deal worth over £55 million.

Business development director Metro Werezak said: "The latest government figures show that last year alone over a quarter of all fatal injuries in the workplace were caused by people falling from height and half those were in the construction sector. Here at A-Plant, we invest heavily in equipment, such as powered access, which significantly improves safety standards on work sites as opposed to scaffolding for example."
