120t Tadano RTs for Bigge

US based Bigge Crane and Rigging has taken delivery of two 120 tonne Tadano GR-1200XL Rough Terrain cranes.

The two axle crane has a 56 metre main boom, plus a 10.1 to 17.7 metre bi-fold swingaway extension with up to 45 degrees of offset, with a maximum tip height of 76 metres. Maximum working radius on main boom is 44 metres or 47 metres with the extension installed.

The crane also incorporates Tadano’s new ‘Smart Chart System’ that optimises the load chart depending on the actual outrigger and superstructure position, for example offering greater reach, or capacity over the top of an outrigger jack, compared to over the side.

The two new GR-1200XL cranes

Tadano America president Ingo Schiller said: “We are pleased to be here at one of Bigge’s anchor locations in Houston for the arrival of the first GR-1200XL. Today, we celebrate both the arrival of Tadano’s newest model to our successful line up of Rough Terrain cranes and the continuation of our longstanding relationship with Bigge.”

Bigge vice president Gulf Coast region Brian Noga added: “The GR-1200XL is a classic Tadano design with a long boom and jib combination. This crane is easy to transport and like all Tadano cranes it is safe, efficient, reliable and cost effective to own, operate, and maintain. The new Smart Chart system is also one of the reasons we like this machine. At Bigge, we are always looking for ways to maximise performance and safety.”
