Lifting Gear acquires Shaw Lifting
Lifting Gear UK has acquired the assets and trade name of Middlesbrough, UK, based lifting gear specialists Shaw Lifting, which is currently owned by the Shaw and Turner families.
Shaw Lifting was established in 1986 to supply and manufacture wire rope slings, polyester webbing slings, load restraint equipment, with a range of services including sales, rental, inspection, servicing and testing of all types of lifting equipment. The company now provides services to a wide range of industry sectors, with a focus on offshore, port authorities, petrochemical, oil & gas, mining, construction and engineering throughout the UK and other parts of Europe. The company is managed by directors Neville Shaw and Peter Turner.
Lifting Gear UK is based in Skelmersdale, North West England, and operates from 10 locations across the UK, and already has a location in Middlesbrough.
Operations director Chris Turner said: “Shaw Lifting has an excellent reputation for outstanding products and services, the acquisition enhances our presence not just for Lifting Gear UK but also our Lifting Projects, Training and Steelwise divisions in Middlesbrough and the North East”.
