300 tonner on its back

A six axle All Terrain came off the A470 road between Builth Wells and Boughrood in Powys, Wales on Thursday, landing upside down in a field.

We understand that the crane is one of Ainscough Crane Hire’s 300 tonne units. The only person involved in the incident as far as we are aware was the crane driver, and he managed to escape unhurt.

It's unfortunate these incidents happen, but surely sending cranes along these kind of "Lanes" is screaming out for an Escort vehicle up front.
I think in a lot of situations like this you have an on coming vehicle whose not giving way and your forced off the road.
I might be making this sound simplistic, but is it not possible especially when there's a crew in a van going to the same job, but there in the cafe an hour before the crane gets there !

Leigh,
A very unfortunate incident and glad no one got hurt.
Since when did Liebherr start making 6 axle 200 toners ?
