Grove crawler for Burger

Chile based rental company Burger Crane Company (Burger Gruas) has taken delivery of a 120 tonne Grove GHC130 telescopic crawler crane.

The GHC130, is built for Grove by Sennebogen in Germany, and features a 40.2 metre main boom, and can pick and carry 100 percent of its load chart and can slew it a full 360 degrees. It is the company's third Grove crane, joining a 120 tonne GMK5120 and a 130 tonne GMK5130. The new crane is currently working at a mine near Santiago, helping to set up prefabricated container homes for employees.

Chief executive Raul Burger said: "We have purchased this crane because we are committed to innovation. There are not many cranes like that in the world. The Grove GHC130 has a much shorter set up time when compared to conventional cranes, and unlike most All and Rough Terrain cranes, it can pick and carry all of its load chart. These features can save contractors a lot of time and money while establishing a competitive edge."

Manitowoc/Grove regional business manager for South America Gerardo Castillo added: "The GHC series cranes are very agile in getting to the job site, setting up and navigating within confined spaces. Established in 1978, Burger is based in Santiago. It employs 140, and runs a fleet of 35 cranes with capacities ranging between 30 and 1,200 tonnes.
