Nationwide Platforms awarded ATO status

UK rental company Nationwide Platforms has gained Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) Approved Training Organisation (ATO) status.

To achieve ATO status, the company had to follow the CITB approval process that included review of the courses offered and the associated standards and qualifications. ATO status will allow customers to book IPAF and PASMA training courses with the company through the CITB's new Construction Training Directory.

The launch of the Construction Training Directory follows a government review and industry consultation into the way training for the construction industry is supported. The online directory lists training programmes, qualifications, courses and standards which are eligible for grant funding. A Construction Training Register has also been launched which allows employers to search the training records of employees in order to check skills and manage their training needs. A new grant scheme has also been introduced to claim CITB grant payments more simply and efficiently.

On successful completion of a course, Nationwide will be able to upload the student’s details onto the Construction Training Register and trigger the automated grant process to ensure that levy paying clients receive all the grants available to them.

Nationwide Platforms interim managing director Phil Wainwright said: "The launch of this new approach from the CITB represents a significant and positive change within the construction industry. It will allow our customers to source training for their employees online, check employee achievements, and claim CITB grant payments more simply and efficiently."

CITB director of products and services Braden Connolly added: "The new Construction Training Directory will make it much easier for employers to get the training they need, where they need it, when they need it. We welcome Nationwide Platforms as one of the first companies to achieve the Approved Training Organisation status. We look forward to working with them to deliver high quality training to the construction sector."
