Partnerlift, the German association of independent regional rental companies, has held its 14th annual meeting in Essen.
Among the workshops held during the meeting was a session on how digital learning can be implemented/combined with Virtual Reality simulators. Participants had the opportunity to test an aerial lift simulator throughout the event. This follows Partnerlift’s move to offer online training courses in cooperation with IPAF. Another workshop dealt with the topic of recruiting young people into the industry.
Topics also including more traditional subjects, such as rental contracts with a presentation by lawyer Franz-Jürgen Möffert. While new members were introduced, including Westphal Service based near the Dutch border to the west of Duisburg, Erwin Ehlers Staplers based near Wiesbaden and Brinckmann Arbeitsbühnen of Bocholt, north of Essen, again close to the Dutch border. The membership now exceeds 150 rental depots, in the aerial lift, telehandler and crane rental market.
Prior to the event all members had the right to vote for whom they considered to be the best equipment suppliers of the year. With more than 100 members voting, Skyjack was named the best self-propelled platform supplier, Multitel Pagliero was voted the truck mounted platform supplier of the year and Dinolift top trailer lift supplier.
Chief executive Kai Schliephake also announced the Top Three members for 2018, based on the outcome of the mandatory quality audits of each member. First place went to Wiesecker Werkzeugvermietung, followed by Imbooom, with Rothlehner Liftverleih in third place.
The association says that it is on the verge of completing a supply agreement with electric vehicle manufacturer e.GO mobile. In addition members placed orders for more than 250 machines with a value of €12.5 million with suppliers attending the event.
