Xtreme unveils three new telehandlers

Xtreme Manufacturing has unveiled two new B-Class telehandlers, plus a new compact model, at the World of Concrete show today

The new B-Class telehandlers include the three tonne/13 metre Xtreme XR742, which has a maximum capacity of 3,175kg and a lift height of 12.8 metres, with a forward reach of 8.2 metres. The four tonne/13 metre XR944, which replaces the Xtreme XR842, has a 4,082kg lift capacity, a maximum lift height of 13.4 metres, plus 8.7 metres of forward reach.

The two models use the same chassis design as the Xtreme XR1055 and XR1147, and feature three section booms with boom rollers as standard, and both are electric over hydraulic, with fully automatic transmission. They also share a common control system with the XR619, XR1055 and XR1147.

Power for both units comes from a Cummins 3.8L 74hp Tier 4 Final diesel with an optional 120hp power unit available on both models. Ground clearance is 419mm, and frame levelling up to 11 degrees left to right. Overall weight is 12,245kg and 13,018kg respectively.

The cab is equipped with Xtreme’s intuitive control system that allows the operator to keep one hand on the steering wheel at all times, a suspension seat as standard, a choice of three cab configurations are available open, enclosed or enclosed with heating and air conditioning.

The units are equipped with a fully rated boom lift point for suspended loads, while options include a wide range of carriages, fork tines, truss booms, pole grapples, buckets, and personnel platforms. Shown as prototypes production is due to begin during the second quarter.

The new Xtreme XR944 (L) and XR742


The 2.7 tonne/5.8 metre XR619 has a capacity of 2,721kg and a lift height of 5.79 metres, with a forward reach of 3.35 metres. It is a replacement for the Xtreme XR5919 compact telehandler, and becomes the smallest model in the Xtreme telehandler range.

The telehandler has an overall weight of 4,672kg, a ground clearance of 274mm and is powered by a Deutz 2.9L 74hp Tier 4 Final engine, it has compact stowed dimensions with an overall width of 1.8 metres and a height of 1.9 metres.

The XR619 comes with standard long life boom rollers, a boom lift point for suspended loads, along with a choice of three cab configurations. Other options include LED work lights, a backup camera, and synthetic oil for cold environments.

Also shown as a prototype, production on the new model is expected to begin during the second quarter at Xtreme’s manufacturing facility in Henderson, Nevada.

At the same time sister company Snorkel is launching two new telehandlers the 4.2 tonne/13.5 metre SR9244 and 4.5 tonne/16.4 metre SR1054.
