Zoomlion opens new plant

Zoomlion has opened what it claims is the world's largest intelligent factory for tower cranes in Changde, China.

The official opening of Zoomlion's new 'Intelligent Factory' in Changde, China


The new plant has taken three years to build at a total cost of 780 million yuan ($115.4 million). The plant is part of the manufacturer’s aims to comply with Germany's Industry 4.0 standards and includes 12 automatic production lines, more than 10,000 sensors, 100 industrial robots, 35 unmanned Rail RGV and Automatic AVG Guided Vehicles, plus 16 CNC machining centres. It features integrated IM control, IM production line, intelligent logistics and intelligent sensors.

Chief executive Zhan Chunxin said: "We are very excited to begin production at our new cutting edge intelligent factory. By leveraging our world leading technology, along with the resources and support available to us in the Changde region, we will be the undisputed world leader in the construction hosting machinery sector and will endeavour to develop even better quality, more intelligent products."

The move follows the unveiling of three all new fourth generation intelligent flat top tower crane products: the T6515, T6520 and T7525 and the company’s recent acquisition of German tower crane manufacturer and rental company Wilbert See Zoomlion acquires Wilbert according to the company the Zoomlion tower crane business generated revenues of $739.7 million in 2018, it hopes that the new plant will help it raise this $1.48 billion this year.
