Darren Bennet 1967 - 2019
We have learnt of sudden and premature death of Darren Bennet, national account manager at Liebherr in the UK in late January.
While he focused mainly on the company’s construction equipment, such as tracked excavators, he was well known by many Liebherr customers. He spent his entire career with Liebherr Great Britain, having joined the company in 1990 and was an active and enthusiastic supporter of the National Federation of Demolition Contractors.

A statement from Liebherr said: “Darren was a loyal Liebherr Great Britain ambassador for over 28 years, forging strong relationships with the business’s customer base and making a direct and significant contribution to the growth and success of Liebherr-Great Britain.”
“Darren was a loveable, larger than life character who approached everything with a smile. His infectious humour and unique ability to put everyone he met at ease are just two of the reasons why he formed so many personal friendships both within Liebherr and throughout its customer base. Darren always took the time to get to know everyone he came into contact with. He was a valued colleague to those of us who worked with him and a good friend to those fortunate enough to have known him more closely. He will be genuinely missed and our sincere condolences go to his family and friends.”
Bennet was also an enthusiastic supporter of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution, thanks to his love of boats, and the breast cancer charity Pink Ribbon Foundation – he lost his first wife Helen to the disease seven years ago - He leaves two sons Tom and Hayden. His funeral was held last Wednesday, anyone wishing to make a charitable donation, are asked to donate to either the Pink Ribbon Foundation
