TVH UK is building a brand new UK parts warehouse in Kidderminster, Worcestershire.
The company says it has acquired the plot with plans for a 12,000 square metre warehouse in order to cope with the challenges of Brexit, including delays at the border and additional paperwork. It says it is making the move in order to assure UK customers that it will continue to support them after the country’s exit from the European Union. The plot is large enough to be extended if and when demand warrants it.
TVH currently operates from a warehouse off the M6 motorway on the north side of Coventry. There are no plans for TVH to leave this location.
General sales manager Stephen Smallbone said: “In order to guarantee long term support for our customers in the UK market, we have now purchased a warehouse right in the centre of the UK. This solution is twofold. Firstly, the Kidderminster warehouse is currently 12,000 square metres, and secondly it has the potential to be extended to 17,000 square metres. This removes once and for all the effect of possible customs or aircraft/air-bridge delays on urgent deliveries for parts that will be stocked in our UK warehouse. Secondly, we expect our enlarged UK warehouse to offer our customers later cut off times for order placing. Whatever the outcome of the Brexit negotiations, the construction work is expected to start soon so that the warehouse will be operational within a year.”
