Ahern opens in Ireland

The international distribution arm of the Ahern group is opening a new operation in Ireland.

Ahern Ireland which will open for business next month to provide sales, service, training and spare parts for Snorkel booms, scissor lifts and telehandlers, along with Bluelift spider lifts for all of Ireland.

The new business will be based at a newly renovated 2,286 square metre facility in Rathcoole, Dublin, with warehouse, workshops, office space and a yard. It will hold inventory of both new machines and replacement parts, while offering workshop and in field service and repairs.

The operation will be managed by David Roddy, who will also retain his current duties as business development manager for Snorkel UK. He will continue to report to Snorkel UK managing director Andrew Fishburn.

Alec Boyle, who currently provides field based technical support for Snorkel UK in Scotland, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland will relocate to new facility from the UK to take up the full time position of lead service engineer for Ahern Ireland. He who will be supported by a full time office based customer service coordinator.

Andrew Fishburn said: “The opening of Ahern Ireland provides us with the opportunity to deliver an enhanced level of service to our valued customer base in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. Many of our Irish customers have been very positive to the opening of this branch, which will provide them with same day access to new machines, spare parts and technical support.”
